La Paz is a peaceful, modern city situated on the southern shore of the Bay of La Paz on the Sea of Cortez. Known as the "gateway to the Sea of Cortez" because of the abundance of marine related recreation and the availability of air travel. La Paz has long been know as being the sportsman's secret for REAL sportfishing in the Sea of Cortez. La Paz has more than 300 days a year of sunshine, this is only surpassed by the number of world class sportfishing days each year.

Only ninety miles from the tip of Baja, and less than two hours by air from California there are a variety of airlines serving the cities Marcos de Leon airport from San Diego, Los Angeles and other major west coast cities. One can also reach La Paz via the San Jose del Cabo airport and with ground transportation, you can be in La Paz in just over two hours. The major roads in Baja Sur are secure, two lane and four lane highways with plenty of interesting things to enjoy along the way.
