La Paz Baja California Fish report from the Mosquito Fleet
This has been a fun week fishing in La Paz with The mosquito Fleet.
We are lucky and not just with fish but we have had some great people fishing with us.
Felicia and Kevin are here for their third time and they have not had a bad day of fishing yet. Here you see them showing a couple of nice size Dorado’s.
Bruce Ferguson and his son also had some excellent fishing and the rumors say they actually released a couple of Wahoo in Las Arenas.
Dorado in La Paz side are still biting and most fisherman are catching their limits on some big fish.
Dona and Greg are here on a extended vacation and enjoying their time fishing with The Mosquito Fleet here you see them with a couple of good side Dorado.
Debbie, Merv and Debbie’s father Peter also had good time fishing with The Mosquito Fleet and manage to catch some nice fish but of course the biggest one got away. Peter is now 91 years young and still catching some fish.
When it looked like yellowtail season was over we got a nice surprise.
Last few weeks we had some small yellowtail here in La Paz but when Mr. Glen Yamada and Mr. David Grayson came here they found some bigger ones, on their last day of fishing, and they also got some dorado the first days fishing here as well. It was great to see them back in La Paz again as they are regular customers and we appreciate their visit.
Day after Jeff caught his dorados Brian decided to steal Jeff boat and Captain Kiki.
And it paid off for him, here you see him with a couple of nice bull dorados.
Fishing for yellowtail is still very good, some big ones are biting but the keep getting away, at least is what all fisherman say,
It looks like summer is starting and we still have some big yellowtail biting.
We have started seeing some marlin and dorado around La Paz and big rooster fish are now providing some great fishing action for all of our fisherman.
Here you see Will, Steve and Chris with a nice rooster they caught this week of the south end of Espiritu Santo Island.
It is SAFE to travel to Baja and in particular La Paz !!!
There have been NO reported cases of the swine flu or H1N1 virus in La Paz
or Baja for that matter.
It now appears that we all took exaggerated precautions for this virus and
especially the Mexican Government. I believe they did the right thing and
should be congratulated on fast and necessary measures taken.
However, we now know that this is not as bad a virus as originally suspected
and we should continue with our lives as before.
Travel to La Paz has never been easier with new flights from Volaris and
fares that are very reasonable.
The city of La Paz is not only one of the safest places to visit in the
world but truly unique with its friendly locals and incredible offshore
Islands where fishing is truly spectacular !
