Hunting pargo and cabrilla is lots of fun but what Vlad and Sasha where after are some of this nice yellow tails.
Lots of yellows in the 30 to 35 pound where sited but of course they where not able to shoot the 50 pounders they did see on their first day of diving.

Spear fishing buddies Vlad and Sasha have been traveling baja for a couple of week.
They have decided that fishing La Paz area has been one of the most productive for them.
Here you see them showing off some nice fish from their first day of fishing.
Some donkey pargo and cabrilla as they called them.

Yes dorado season is over but last couple of year we have been lucky enough to be fishing for dorado as late as the end of december, last week we had Steve Bennett group fishing with us and here are some pictures of their catch.

ROOSTER FISH

There are still plenty of dorado in the bay of La Paz but Vick Bahe got a nice surprise when he hooked this big rooster fish, same day he manage to catch some dorado, sierra and pargo.
Fishing is not wide open anymore but there is still a good variety of fish to be caught.

HURRICAN RICK BRINGS SOME GOOD FISHING

We had hurricane Rick coming for Baja this week.
Once it got here it was a tropical depression and did not affect fishing that much.
Ted Hampton fished with us just a couple of months ago and had a great time fishing so he decided to come back for some more.
Ted fished with captain Pancho and got some good Dorado's over 3 days of fishing.
Last day of fishing Rick got close to us and they had to stay in shore but still manage to get some sierra and pargo.

This week dorado fishing did slow down a bit so we tried some in shore fishing and it paid off.
We had Dave fishing this week we decided to look for some Cabrilla and we did caught some nice ones and we also got a nice surprise with this snook landed by captain Carlos.

BIG DORADO ARE STILL AROUND

water temperature is getting quite warm and this is affecting the fish bite.
Finding the big Dorado's is a bit harder but Captain guero manage to find some last week when he took Patrick Drayer out fishing for a couple of days.
Here you see Patric holding one of the biggest Dorado's caught this day.

Bring your kids down

You want to show your kids what La Paz is all about! Bring 'em on down for some lifetime memories. These boys, Ulises Fifield (6), Sheldon Fields (7) and Greyson Fields (9) took turns reeling a nice big bull dorado in with captain Ricardo. These boys will never forget this day.

Releasing a nice rooster fish

This is captain Lamberto releasing a nice rooster fish that Tom Streck from Whittier, CA caught using live bait. We have still been catching a few nice roosters even thought the Dorado have been super HOT lately.

Jackpot!!!!!!

Talk about a nice day! Ricardo Fifield took his wife, Berenice, and her cousin, Erica out with one of our good friends Bret Fields and his two boys, Greyson and Sheldon Fields from Omak, WA. We fished in the Bay of La Paz close to La Rayna at a secret spot that the Mosquitofleet captains can take you to anytime you come down. The whole group caught these BIG bulls in one hour and even lost a few bigger bulls than the ones they hauled into the Panga. We can honestly say that it doesn't get any better than this.

Erica with her first fish she ever caught

Here we a have Erica from Tiajuana with her first fish she has ever caught. Talk about topping something like this. It should be a long time before she ever catches a fish this big. Another great day on the Sea of Cortez.

Ricardo and his son Ulises
