great fishing weather

Fishing has slowed down a bit but still some yellow tails coming in as well as marlin and sailfish.
Lots of Dorado are around but they are apparently full on squid so they are not biting as they where last week so we are just waiting for them to get sick of eating squid so we can start catching them again.
In the mean time we are having fun with pargo and cabrillas and the pangas that make it out to el bajo are still catching a few yellows.

DORADO AND MARLIN BITING EARLY

This week started with great yellow tail fishing at the sea mount El Bajo.
But anglers soon lost interest in the yellows when their bait where being startled by some bull dorado, we heard stories of some big dorado coming in early but didn’t have much luck hooking them until early this week. Along with Dorado striped marlin are around and biting bait. Here are some of the pictures of this weeks fishing. In one day the boats came in with yellows, Dorado, marlin, sailfish and cabrilla.
Fishing is still very good so come down and fish with the Mosquito Fleet.

After fishing for yellow tail boats have been stopping by
Espiritu santo island and catching some pargo and cabrilla.
This week we had George fishing with us and had a great fishing day.
They fished 2 days at el bajo and were able to fill their coolers whit fish.
Picture here shown George with his fish but he dint want to let go of his beer for the picture so we can’t see it to good.

LA PAZ FISHING VACATION

I don’t often get more than a small window to go on vacation each year and was worried about fishing in March as I have only fished La Paz in the summer months and always been told that those were the only good fishing months. I arrived in La Paz at the end of March not really knowing what to expect. I had booked two days of fishing with The Mosquito Fleet as I have been fishing with them for more than 10 years now and they have always taken good care of my friends and me.
For my first day we were taken out to El Bajo an area famous for catching Yellow Tail during the season. We had a pretty good southerly wind that got us out there in good time and within 15 minutes we were both hooked up to what seemed to be monsters. We were both using scrambled egg colored yoyos and landed one 25 pound fish and an astonishing 38-pound beauty of a Yellow Tail. I was now exhausted but convinced I had picked the right time to come to La Paz. We hooked up to another 5 fish that morning before telling our excellent captain “Pancho” to return back to the dock, as we were more than happy with the day’s catch.
For our second day we wanted to bottom fish for Snapper and Sea bass, but were once again shocked by the quality and consistency of the fishing for the time of year. The action was thick and fast all day and when we returned to the dock we had our fish barbequed up for us at no charge! What a day!

Cooler water ans some winds did nothing to slow down fishing here in La Paz.
Wahoo made a surprice come back with some wahoo in the 30-40 pound range but some 80 pounders where caught like this one that put a big smile on Craig face.
Dorado bite is still hot, lots of 15-30 pound dorado are coming in but a few of the big ones are still around if you have the rigth bait to catch them.
